BQ September 2017 -what a wonderful exhibition it was!

2 10 2017

We had a very successful exhibition a couple of weeks ago.  The weather was on our side and we had record attendances.  Our charity quilt and tombola in aid of The Chamwell centre at Milestone School raised £1700 in total which was outstanding.  The sales table was magnificent and the refreshments were as ever worth the visit.  We were very conscious that  from about 11.30 to 1.30, we had too many people wanting to eat and we realise how frustrating that is for those who had to wait.  The committee has discussed ways of avoiding this but unless we change venues we cannot find a way of seating more people inside.  If the weather co-operates in 2019, we are going to try offering some tea/coffee and cake in the car park if we can mange to do so safely.

So a big thank you to all our visitors, to our traders: Cornerstone Crafts, Doughty Bros, Oakshott Fabrics and Quilters’ Corner as well as Shelley Faulkner, long arm quilter for making out sales tent so popular.

And thank you to Jeanette and Vee , two of our members who demonstrated bowl making and machine quilting and a special thanks to Mandy Clayton who demonstrated her beautiful work over both days. You can see more on her website is here: http://www.amandajclayton.co.uk/
