April 27th 2013 Jan Hassard Dazzling Diamonds

IMG_4150Our diamonds definitely dazzled on Saturday!

Made I think by Susan, Karen, Christina, Georgina and Jane.  Jane and I had exactly the same fabric but the designs are different due to where we placed each colour.

It was a great, well taught workshop which we all enjoyed and as ever enhanced by the lovely lunch produced by Georgina.

Fabric Dying

Last Saturday a select group of us enjoy fabric dying in the morning and fabric printing in the afternoon. This is my fabric after I had rinsed and ironed it.

A new wool pear inspired by Maryke Phillips

This pear is made with wool fabric from an old pair of trousers and embroidered with lazy daisy flowers using Stef Francis thread as inspired by the talk and all those felt books that Maryke showed us on Wednesday evening!

Disappearing nine patch

Disappearing nine patch

You might remember this quilt which I started at The Festival of quilts a good few years ago. The technique is one I demonstrated at BQ one evening. I have machine quilted in the ditch and am now doing big stitch quilting with perle 8 thread. It just needs binding now.
