A very successful exhibition!

16 09 2013

The weather forecast wasn’t encouraging but we increased the number of visitors, evenly spread across the weekend.  We had a wonderful display of quilts and wall hangings, bags and cushions, pictures and pincushions, table runners and doorstops and more!  We are a multi talented group whether we are beginners or long time quilters and it showed in the complimentary comments.  We are also great cooks and our reputation for food spreads far and wide (Swindon, Wantage, even Devon).

Our traders worked so hard especially on Sunday morning when we had a lot of condensation to deal with and our demonstrators Liz, Vee and Sue held the interest of many visitors who were keen to learn new skills.  Our raffle quilt sold out as did our needlecase tombola so all in all a very successful weekend.

Margaret won the visitor choice with her whole cloth quilt – simple, no colour but spectacular!  She is seen below holding her prize (more fabric!) and the other quilts were all popular choices.

This website has attracted a lot of visitors over the weekend perhaps as a result of the exhibition.  Perhaps some of you will join us.

Now to start planning the next one in 2015!

Liz's fabric flowers

Liz will be demonstrating how to make fabric flowers on Saturday 14th in the afternoon and Sunday 15th in the morning at Brockhampton Quilters exhibition. This bunch arrived for my birthday and now have pride of place in the hall!
