End of the year AGM

11 12 2014

Our Group goes from strength to strength in numbers.  We have celebrated our 25th anniversary with a proper tea party for past and present members.  Our finances are extremely sound (thank you Jennie)and we have enjoyed evenings and workshops with some eminent stitchers as well as with our own members.  One lovely group quilt has been completed and the second to be raffled at our 2015 exhibition is well underway. We have enjoyed trips to Bath for the Kaffe Fassett exhibition and to  the NEC for the Festival of Quilts as well as a weekend in Mevagissey with Di Wells. We have made quilts for Linus and are busy preparing for another wonderful exhibition in September.

The hard work and inspiration for all these lovely experiences that we share with like minded stitchers is down to in the main to Georgina.  We all play our part of course but behind the scenes a great deal of time is spent making sure all these things happen.

Last night we said thank you to Georgina for another enjoyable year and gave her a small present which you can see below.  The needle felted chicken, called Itchy Breeches is made by Dinny Pocock (from Winds of Change gallery). We have a workshop on needle felting next year though I doubt we will be able to make something as lovely as this!
