Jeanette has completed her bluebell picture!

29 05 2011

Jeanette’s is the first finished picture I have seen but Sue has almost finished, Debbie has bought a new sewing machine so she can complete hers and Jill Drury and her sister spent a small fortune on thread at Malvern.  I have been stitching away on my bluebells this afternoon – just need to do the binding now!

Malvern Quilt Show

22 05 2011

Sue Grundy and I enjoyed the quilt show at Malvern this afternoon.  Well we enjoyed the shopping ( I can confess that fabric was bought!…..) but we thought that most of the quilts were rather uninspiring.  We loved the retrospective by Di Wells and the miniature winner.  We also like Le Jardin (above) in Moda Rouenneries fabric but we decided we like anything in that particular fabric.  They ran out of show guides so I can’t credit any of the quilts.

You can see the ones I liked best here:

BQ meeting this week with the wonderful Ineke!

7 05 2011

At our next meeting we welcome a return visit from one of my favourite quilters, Ineke Berlyn.

I find Ineke such a creative person and inspiring artist.  She has produced some amazing winning quilts from her tulips, bluebells and Tom Schulten pieces (see below) to her ‘mother of the bride’ quilt.  I always look forward to Malvern or Birmingham to see what she will produce next!

She has an excellent website http://www.inekeberlyn.com/ where you see some of her work.

I’m sure it’ll be fun!
