Fame at last!

29 06 2010

I heard this week that one of my photos will appear in an online guide to Philadelphia.

Looking at it, you can see  some of my favourite colours appearing, like my blue and green bento box quilt.

You can see the guide here

Can I post another pear pincushion?

25 06 2010

I’ve been deep in A Level maths marking so not much time for sewing ( or even buying fabric!) but I have made this pear pincushion for a present.  I hope she likes it – I think it is rather beautiful myself and I might make another one just the same.

Meeting this week with Liz Brooke Ward

13 06 2010

Well, I don’t know about you but I came away from the talk by Liz Brooke Ward feeling a mixture of inspired and inadequate.  Liz is clearly very creative and I always admire those people who have such original ideas.  I can create but rarely am I original.  Maybe that is why I used to be top in maths and bottom in art at school!  In the picture Liz is showing us a jacket she made and some of her quilts are hanging in the background.

Her website is here  http://www.lizbrookeward.com/
