What a successful Show!

25 09 2015

Last weekend we held our biennial quilt show in Brockhampton. The weather was mostly kind and we enjoyed a steady stream of visitors over the 2 days. Many people commented on the high standards of our work but also on the vast range of things we produce from quilts and wallhangings to bags, boxes, cushions, table runners and pictures. As well as traditional and modern quilts, we dye and we print, we use fabric and paper, we hand quilt and machine quilt. Often we are inspired by our speakers, our workshop teachers and especially each other. Our experience goes from beginner to people who have sewn for all their lives and we aim to value the work of all our members whatever the stage of their sewing journey. We are also famous for our cooking and it is rumoured that some come just to eat!
Our needlecraft tombola gave out 175 prizes and the sales table raised hundreds for charity. The charity quilt did well and we hope the traders did as well. All in all a very satisfactory weekend and thousands raised for LINC.

So here are a few photos of our work:
