October meeting with Eleanor Marsden

4 01 2016

The group was dazzled by the fantastic rainbow quilts made by Eleanor.  She kept us entranced as she showed us quilt after quilt, most involved using bias binding and some fascinating techniques and effects. The photos above are of her translucent rose window quilt inspired by Chartres.  Eleanor had us laughing all evening as she told us many stories about her quilt making and competition entries.  Her fascination with design and precision (she was a maths teacher) were clear to see and we had a fantastic evening.
