Angie Hughes – adventures with tension!

10 04 2014

Angie came to Brockhampton Quilters this week and showed us lots of her velvet printed and stitched samples.  She showed us the multitude of different stsitches you can get by using a thicker thread in the bobbin case and by altering the top and bottom tensions.  It was fascinating to see what she created with what most of us will have experienced at some stage with nightmare tensions and ‘eyelash stitches’  Angie called them whip and chain stitches. You can see one of her landscapes below with detail and the demonstration stitching she did with us.
