Table hopping February meeting

14 02 2014

On a wild and windy night, those of us organising the demonstrations were surprised and delighted to see so many members turn out to enjoy meeting up with their friends and to learn some new techniques.  Vee demonstrated a 10 minute tablerunner and we know she can do it because we timed it!  Jeanette showed us a wonly log cabin block that turned into a beautiful cushion cover and Georgina demonstrated a range of paper pieced quilt labels as her pet hate is unlabelled quilts!

I worked on Japanese folded squares.  one of our members who died in 2012 left a half completed project made using some lovely squares in red, cream and green and together we worked on finishing the project to raffle for charity.  We have a lot of new members, some of whom are quite new to quilting and so many of them had not seen this technique before and they were amazed by the simplicity of the making and how nice the finished project looks.
