Brockhampton quilters have been busy!

10 05 2012

We had a very successful sale on Saturday morning raising money for the air ambulance in memory of one of our members Nora who died last year.  It was great to see so many people supporting us. Below you can see of her work.

On Wednesday evening nearly 30 members enjoyed a brilliant talk by Bristol Quilter Jan Hassard.  Jan brought some of her many heritage quilts to show us and along the way we learnt about dating fabric, the difference between Durham and Welsh whole cloth quilts, what a triple wedding ring quilt looks like and quite a lot about heritage French quilts.  Jan is a mine of information and a great speaker so the evening was a real success.

Jan also brought some of her own quilts to show us.  She is a modern quilter who makes very geometric, bright quilts which I love.  We have asked her to run a workshop for us next year.
