Where did April go?

6 05 2012

Under a blanket of rain!  In the end the showers joined together and it rained all month and the only things really growing in the garden are grass and weeds.  I know the rain is needed but it made April a depressing month.

On the upside of course it means more time for sewing if I’m not gardening and I’ve been busy making pears and pincushions, needlecases and bags for my sale at the end of May as part of Arts week in Winchcombe.  The weather has not been good for The Wool Festival but there has been yarn bombing and ‘the big knit’ and needlefelting, spinning and extreme knitting all going on at Winds of Change gallery in Winchcombe.  My wool pears have sold well (see the photos) and are travelling worldwide as we speak.  The needlecases are a mini log cabin pattern mixed with linen.  They use the tiniest scraps (not good for the stash) but rather beautiful.
